Wake up on Christmas morning in Antarctica! Spend the holidays with penguins, seals, whales, and of course, Arty, our Antarctica ambassador! He is already planning some festive activities for the 24-day holiday voyage, which is scheduled to depart December 11 from Valparaiso, Chile. We hope you will join Arty and the Seabourn Quest team on this special cruise! Check out the full itinerary here.
One of Seabourn’s most popular events is our signature “Caviar in the Surf” beach barbecue. Our uniformed staff members plunge into the water and invite guests to wade in and get iced champagne and caviar at a surfboard bar. The event includes a lavish barbecue lunch, watersports, music and ample time to soak up the sun on a white-sandy beach. In this video, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Seabourn Legend staff puts together this legendary event for our guests in the Caribbean.

Arty, Seabourn’s Antarctica ambassador, and a group of his friends paid a special visit to the Seabourn office last week. With the line’s inaugural Antarctica cruises quickly approaching, they gathered in the boardroom to discuss the voyages, the Seabourn cruise experience, and how to create special Seabourn Moments for guests. It was certainly a productive meeting; Arty and his friends planned many fun and exciting activities for these cruises!
Tiny Trollfjord is a highlight on our voyages to the Norwegian fjords. This two-kilometer-long branch of the Raft Sound snakes between lofty peaks on the Lofoten and Vesteraalen islands. In this video, Seabourn Captain Karlo Buer shows what it’s like to thread this narrow fjord on Seabourn Sojourn.

We are pleased to introduce Extended Explorations, a novel way for travelers to enjoy longer cruises on our award-winning intimate ships, with the added luxury of a wide range of choices regarding where and when they sail.
For 2014 and 2015, we have crafted new, linked itineraries allowing guests to explore more extensive regions of the globe in depth, and at greater savings, during voyages lasting from 28 days to extended sailings of up to 116 days.
“A lot of travelers prefer a long, leisurely voyage, and they also love the idea of really exploring a particular part of the world,” said John Delaney, Seabourn’s senior vice president of marketing and sales. “So we have Extended Explorations in Africa, Asia, the South Pacific and South America and Antarctica that really pack a lot of port content into the time, exploring the whole of West and South Africa, for instance, plus the beautiful Indian Ocean islands and exciting new Asian destinations such as Myanmar. And during those voyages, they’ll enjoy the heightened sense of camaraderie and the relaxing continuity that come with a long voyage, plus all the personalized Seabourn hospitality they have come to expect from us.”
Extended Explorations are available in different lengths, in different regions, and in different seasons throughout the year. Extended Explorations voyages will offer an additional savings of 10 percent for combining cruises, plus frequent overnight stays in ports, regionally-themed menus and wines on board, local folkloric entertainment, regionally-focused experts for Seabourn Conversations onboard enrichment and optional, escorted mid-cruise Seabourn Journeys to nearby cultural or historical highlights.

It has been really social on Seabourn Sojourn lately. Check out these photos of the ship’s social scene last month, sent in from Assistant Cruise Director Sophie Tehrani.
Coffee at the Cape: Hotel Director Vitor Alves organized a bathrobe social on the ship’s bow when Seabourn Sojourn was cruising around Norway’s North Cape in a seasonal mist on August 6.
Ice Cream Social: Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein region is great dairy country, so the Kiel Canal was a natural place for Cruise Director Bruce Morrison to host an ice cream social on August 20. Seabourn’s Antarctic Ambassador Arty, being a fan of frozen foods, showed up too.
