Pamela Conover, Seabourn’s president and CEO, just returned from a hardhat tour in Genoa, Italy, to survey the progress of Seabourn Sojourn in the shipyard.  She was joined by several senior officers and senior executives from headquarters.  Here is her update:

We are only two months away from introducing our second new yacht, and I am delighted to report that construction is going very smoothly.  Sojourn is on schedule and coming together beautifully.

The shipyard staff is working extremely hard preparing the yacht for her launch.  The teak decking has been laid throughout most of the vessel.  I’m pleased to report that many of the guest suites are already completed including those on decks 4, 5 and 6.  The Casino is nearly finished and the staff just laid the carpet in The Club.  Work in the restaurants is progressing very nicely and the galley is almost completed.  One of my favorite sports is The Colonnade and I can already picture myself having breakfast there during the Maiden Voyage with the rugged Icelandic landscape in the background.

Next month, we are taking Sojourn out to sea for her sea trials and we are looking forward to stretching her legs at that time!

This is really an exciting time for all of us in the company and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our second new luxury yacht.  She is going to be stunning and an excellent addition to our fleet.  I am absolutely looking forward to seeing Sojourn anchored in the River Thames in London in June when we will introduce her to the world.
