On October 31, 2008 the Legend and the QE2 were docked in Cagliari, Sardinia. It was the last time the Legend and the QE2 would cross paths before the Queen's retirement a couple of weeks later. We were in suite 206 on the Legend and I had just emerged from the shower and was preparing to dress for a pre-dinner Halloween reception with new friends who occupied one of the Owners suites. It goes without saying that Seabourn is our "home away from home".  We decided many years ago that rather than invest in a summer home or a boat, we would spend our vacation and holiday time on the ships of Seabourn.  And, on this cruise we hit our 31st voyage with Seabourn.  The staff got together and assembled 31 balloons, each inscribed with a sailing date, ship and destination that were part of our Seabourn sailing history.  The balloons were lined up and arranged along the ceiling of our suite, and you can imagine our reaction when we entered our suite.  All six Seabourn sisters were represented there, as well as almost every destination that Seabourn visits, going back to our first cruise on Seabourn Legend in 2001.  ... read more

I boarded the beautiful Seabourn Sojourn in May with my group of friends. We met up for lunch by the pool. Because you can pick and choose from a selection of items, it is easy for me to see what I can and cannot eat. I have some dietary restrictions and meal time, which is one of my favorite times, can turn into an ordeal ending with a dish of plain lettuce with some veggies. I was somewhat dreading dinner, where I would have to go through my dietary restrictions with the wait staff and try to explain gluten free plus some other restrictions. I have been on vacation where I've tried to explain this and while well intentioned, I usually end up with something I can't eat or there isn't anything I can eat. ... read more

While on transatlantic crossing on Spirit this year, we celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary. We have had anniversaries on board before, all of them memorable, but this time was exceptional. At the end of the meal, we knew the delicious anniversary cake would come out and it did, carried by Felipe, one of our favourite maitre d's. What we did not expect was that when the cake arrived, so did nearly all the waiters from the restaurant to gather round our table and sing Happy Anniversary. Unbelievable!   ... read more
