Brand New Seabourn Odyssey Pool and Spa Pics

More fantastic and exciting updates from Neil Carney, Chief Engineer…

“On a lovely, sunny weekend in Genoa we watched the construction block of the Atrium “Dome” being lifted on board. Fabrication of the dome was completed only the day before in one of the vast construction halls here at Mariotti shipyards (see picture below). The Atrium is just forward of the funnels and will provide an impressive focal point as you enter the Spa area from the open deck area (of deck 9) above the pool. It is 8 mtrs (25 feet) in diameter, stands approx 9 mtrs (28 feet) high at the rear and 4 mtrs (13 feet) at the front.”

“The glassed “Dome” will provide plenty of daylight, streaming down from deck 9 to the bottom of the spiral staircase (see picture) on deck 4 by the entrance to The Restaurant.”

“In the below photo, we see the dome in place and can also see construction of the deck 8 pool area.”

“See the construction progress on the deck 5 aft (close to the stern) pool and whirlpool spa area? This is the open deck area aft of the Club Lounge.”

“There are plenty of areas on Odyssey to have a nap in the sun loungers, relax or enjoy a dip in one of the pools or whirlpools. As on the existing Seabourn sisters, we are to have a single whirlpool on the foredeck of the ship – deck 6. There is also a quiet area called The Retreat on deck 11 just aft of the forward Sun Terrace. Both of these will have magnificent glass walls, allowing all to see the wondrous scenery whilst cruising and relaxing, maybe with a cocktail or cup of tea (with milk– there, you can tell I’m a Brit.)

You can get an artist’s view of the finished Atrium Dome and the deck 8 pool area by visiting the Seabourn Odyssey website and navigating to Experiencing Seabourn Odyssey.”
