In mid-July, Seabourn Pride turned north and west from Norway’s North Cape and nosed toward the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard in the Arctic Ocean. As they approached the islands and spotted the first floating ice, Executive Chef Jes Paskins created a sunny breakfast on deck event to take advantage of the gorgeous scenery.
There were a few other notable happenings during the voyage: Seabourn Pride called at Ny Alesund, generally noted as the most northerly community in the world; breathtaking scenic cruising in Magdalenafjord, complete with sighting of a swimming polar bear; and a cruise to the edge of the north polar icepack.
