Riot-torn Tunisia will be visited by Seabourn on the “Mediterranean Tapestry” cruise. Seabourn is unwilling to change its itinerary and substitute a safe Mediterranean port. The US State Department issued a Travel Warning for Tunisia months ago. That US Travel Warning remains IN EFFECT until the US State Department issues a specific withdrawal of that warning. The Tunisia US consul office has only “essential personnel” and cannot provide the usual help to US citizens. Seabourn is not offering any special protection in Tunisia for Seabourn customers. Seabourn is inviting customers to buy land excursions to inland Tunisia. Riots are occurring in Tunisia: See the Associated Press news “Clashes mar funeral of slain Tunisia opposition leader” in The Denver Post
Seabourn should change its planned itinerary for the safety of Seabourn customers. Seabourn should take action to remove Tunisia from the Seabourn itinerary and substitute a safe Mediterranean port.

The safety and security of our guests is always our most important priority. Seabourn Sojourn is scheduled to call at Tunis on April 28 and Odyssey at Monastir on May 1. These itineraries have not been changed to date, although we reserve the right to change them at a later date should the conditions require it for the safety of our guests and staff.
